INGREDIENTS:

  • Daawat Traditional Basmati Rice
  • Oil
  • Cumin seeds
  • Dried red chili
  • Onion, chopped
  • Garlic, chopped

Vegetables (cubed):

  • Carrots
  • Potatoes
  • Peppers

Additional Vegetables:

  • Corn
  • Peas

Spices:

  • Coriander powder
  • Salt
  • Chili powder
  • Cumin powder

For Garnish:

  • Fresh cilantro
  • Crispy onions

For Serving:

  • Yogurt sauce (on the side)

Cook:

  1. Grab a pot and heat it on low.
  2. Chop and prepare the vegetables. Cube the carrots, potatoes, and peppers, and set aside along with the corn and peas.
  3. Add oil to the pot. Add cumin seeds and dried red chili, then add the chopped onion and garlic.
  4. Add the vegetables and sauté.
  5. Add coriander, salt, chili powder, and cumin powder.
  6. Toast the rice with the masala, then add water and cook until the rice is soft and fluffy.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and crispy onions.
  8. Plate and serve with yogurt sauce on the side. Top with additional cilantro and crispy onions.
