INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup Daawat Ultima Basmati Rice
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 - 2 dried red chilies
  • 8 - 10 curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • 1 green chili, slit
  • ½ cup fresh grated coconut
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Cook:

  1. Rinse Basmati Rice thoroughly and cook until fluffy and separate. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add dried red chilies, curry leaves and peanuts. Sauté until the peanuts turn golden.
  4. Add green chili and cook briefly.
  5. Stir in fresh grated coconut and sauté lightly for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add cooked rice and salt. Mix gently until well combined.
  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat to allow flavors to blend.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  9. Serve warm, ideally in a coconut shell for an elevated presentation.
