INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup Daawat basmati rice, washed and soaked.
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger, garlic, and chili paste( I used 4 cloves garlic, 1 inch ginger, and 3 Thai chilis)
  • 1 cup colored bell peppers, chopped 1/4 cup carrots
  • 1/2 cup cauliflower Florette (optional)
  • 1/3 cup peas
  • 1 small, tomato, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Quarter teaspoon cumin, coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoon Pav bhaji masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Cilantro to garnish
  • Green onions to garnish
  • Grated paneer to garnish

 

Cook:

  1. Wash your rice until the water turns clear. Soak the rice in hot water for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Bring a pot of water to boil, once spoiling add salt.
  3. Drain the soaked rice and drop that into the boiling water. Cook for seven minutes. Drain it and set it aside.
  4. In a pan, heat up some oil or butter, add onions , sauté for one to two minutes. Then add ginger, garlic, and chili paste sauté until it’s fragrant.
  5. Add the rest of the veggies, sauté for 3 to 5 minutes, add peas, and tomatoes. Cook for 1 -2 minutes. Add in all the masala’s and let this sauté for another 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add cooked rice and fill the rice in with the veggies.
  7. Garnish with cilantro, scallions, and paneer. enjoy!
